These are busbar coupling cells that are used with busbar amplification cells, of which rated current is up to 1250 A and of which short circuit strength is up to 25 kA, and which require switching under secondary protection and under short circuit.

3 polar SF6 switch and 3 polar 3 position (open- closed- grounding rod) SF6 gas insulated separator are used on these cells as a standard and optionally air insulated revolving separator might also be used.

Busbar segmenting cells with switch are used for coupling of two busbars automatically or through remote or access.
